Investing in Max Investments is a simple, 3-step process:
Step 1 – Select a Payment PlanStep 1 – Select a Payment Plan
There are two payment plans from which to choose – each offering its own
benefits:
Select Investment Plan
This payment plan affords flexibility by allowing for lump sum and scheduled
contributions.
Investment Minimums Lump Sum: N$ 10 000.00
Scheduled: N$ 500.00 / month
Ad hoc: N$ 500.00
Investment Term: No contractual investment term
Committed Investment Plan
This plan calls for committed premiums for a fixed period, but allows for the
option of 100% investment allocation. This means that you can opt for the
initial investment fees not to be recouped at the outset of the investment,
allowing all your money to be invested from day 1.
Note that the 100% investment allocation option does not apply for payments made
via stop order and investments made into certain external (non-Old Mutual)
funds.
Investment Minimums: > 10 years: N$ 250.00 / month
< 10 years: N$ 500.00 / month
Investment Term: As determined by the choice of product “wrapper” (see Step 2)
Step 2 – Select a Tax Option
Max Investments gives you access to a choice of tax options within the same
investment platform. The tax on investment returns, along with other factors
such as estate planning and liquidity, are governed within several legal
frameworks – also known as product “wrappers”.
The “wrapper” you choose therefore prescribes how and when you are taxed on your
investment gains. While your adviser will best guide you as to the option most
suited to your needs they are, in simple terms, as follows:
Life “Wrapper”
Your investment is taxed within the portfolio removing the burden of
administration from your shoulders. Liquidity is subject to certain conditions.
Step 3 – Select the Fund/s of Your Choice
Through Max Investments you have access to a comprehensive spread of investment
funds (also known as underlying investments) that enable you to structure a
portfolio that matches your objectives and appetite for risk.
The “wrapper” selected determines the choice of funds available. Again, your
adviser will best suggest the fund or combination of funds best suited to your
needs.
