COVID-19 has brought many changes that impacted businesses and the way individuals go about their daily lives. Guided by our vision to be our customer's first choice to sustain, grow and protect their prosperity, as from 18 November 2021, we included questions regarding the vaccination status of customers when submitting new business applications for underwritten life and funeral cover as part of their health questionnaire. Furthermore, increased premiums for unvaccinated customers will be introduced from 1 December 2021. This decision follows a variety of initiatives Old Mutual implemented to encourage vaccinations by its customers. 

Old Mutual Namibia maintains its pro-vaccination stance and will continue to encourage our customers to vaccinate to protect themselves and others. The reality is that millions of people have lost their lives globally because of COVID-19 complications. While Old Mutual respect individuals’ freedom of choice, data has made it clear that unvaccinated individuals are more at risk to pass away because of the virus.
