Old Mutual Wealth served as the title sponsor for the recently concluded Michelle McLean Children’s Trust Golf Day in Swakopmund.

The collaboration helped raise over N$300,000 which will go towards the support of various community-driven initiatives under the Trust, focused on education, financial empowerment, and women’s development.

The golf day attracted 38 teams and 114 golfers, who participated in a friendly yet competitive game of golf to support the cause. Michelle McLean, the founder of the Michelle McLean Children’s Trust, expressed her gratitude for Old Mutual Wealth's role in the success of the event.

“We are extremely grateful to Old Mutual Wealth for the support, as well as for their unwavering support of the Michelle McLean Children’s Trust,” said McLean. “The funds raised from both the golf day and the auctions will go a long way in supporting various projects, including the Michelle McLean Primary School in Otjomuise, Windhoek. Beyond education, we are focused on empowering local communities with financial literacy programmes for students and learners, as well as for women in business.”

McLean elaborated on the significance of financial literacy programmes, noting their ability to provide underserved communities with the tools they need to succeed. “Financial skills programmes are critical to helping individuals understand the basics of managing finances and growing their businesses,” she explained. “These initiatives empower people to better their lives and contribute meaningfully to the economy.”
